Me.  Just finished re-reading the series as well.  I don't buy the comics as individual issues, just as the collections (last one was released a week or so ago (vol 15).  Last thing I saw in that was Andrea and Rick kissing.  Just mentioned that in case you are reading in issues and are ahead of me.  A pal of mine mentioned that Kirkman has also written a novel about the goevernor that he can't put down (all about how the character came to power and eventually loses it). 

As you mentioned, there are a ton of differences.  All I'm hoping for is that they bring in Michone to the TV series - easily my fav character from the comics.  AS LONG AS THEY DON'T CAST HER WITH CHRISTINE ADAMS.  She plays Mira in Terra Nova currently... anyway, I'm really hoping they bring in a no name with potential.  I also hope they start into the prison and governor storylines in the series next.  I wonder if Rick will lose his hand... or if his wife will meet the same end.  Can't imagine them putting that on TV.
