Morrowind

Past ten years? But most of the best games are older than that .  Even if they had crap for graphics.  Heh very nice ones being listed though.

I'd have to say Civ IV. The amount of hours I've put into that game far exceed any other. I have mixed feelings about everyone who quantified their Civ IV choice with the Fall From Heaven mod. I love the mod and got a lot of enjoyment out of it, but it wouldn't exist without the strength of Civ IV as a game itself.

As for Civ V...It's the first Civ game I couldn't get into since I played the first one on my 386. It looks pretty though.

Dawn of War II

From a pure value staid point I`ve gotten more enjoyment for the money from this serieis then anything I`ve ever bought.  I paid $30 each for DoW2, Chaos Rising and Retribution.  I`ve logged well over 1000 hrs on these.  It has been absolutely fantastic.  It has the best music and sound effects, Voice work I can remember.  Those are important things for me.

The MP is really where it takes off.  I`ve never played an RTS MP before.  I became obsessed with this MP.  Incredible!

I would highly recommend it.  I`ve never played a game as much as I`ve played this series in last 15 years.

Am I the only person in the world who enjoys Civ V more than Civ IV?

I'm in that camp too.

I really enjoyed Civ IV, but I think I'm having more fun now that I'm playing Civ V with my girlfriend. Civ V is easier to get into than Civ IV

That I can agree too, but its miles behind in quality, depth and interesting choices in my humble opinion.

Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and Mass Effect 1 and 2

Best games of all time are Skyrim and Morrowind, Oblivion was a turd compared to morrowind and skyrim, espically(spelling) that enemies leveled with you.

I guess I just never saw Civ as a series that needed to be all that accessible. It's already such a huge time commitment to play through a normal speed game, that if you had the patience for that, you had the patience for anything.

Glad you are able to play it with your girlfriend though. I explained the game to mine and it went so far over her head, that I knew it was a lost cause.

Well, my taste in videogames is usually not mainstream, so I will pick the following as my favorite game of 2002 and beyond:

SERIOUS SAM 2 !!!

I find this game very funny and addictive, I just love it!

Other games:

WORMS 4 MAYHEM

HALF-LIFE 2

PARIAH

AGE OF MYTHOLOGY

FAREHNEIT (not sure if I have spelled it correctly)

ARMIES OF EXIGO

Ok, you can flame me now and say that my choices suck, I will endure it...

I'm going to have to go with World of Warcraft.

WOW should be the clear winner... WOW aside, I would pick Civ IV.

Lord of the Rings Online

Skyrim

I spend 6 years of my life playing Diablo II... but that was before 2002 when it came out.
